For growing Class II patients in the late mixed dentition, we typically used a removable twin block appliance in the past. For patients with severe overjet in the early mixed dentition, we would band the upper first molars and use a Forsus™ appliance to address the bite sooner rather than later. However, neither of these bite correctors allowed us to simultaneously address any other issues unless additional devices were added for functionality. The key advantage of using the Invisalign system with mandibular advancement for Class II correction is that other aspects of the malocclusion can begin to be addressed at the same time that the bite is being corrected, and our patients and their
parents greatly appreciate this efficiency.
