REINFECTION OF THE ROOT CANAL SYSTEM AFTER SUCCESS FUL TREATMENT OF A CHRONIC APICAL PERIODONTITIS – A CASE REPORT
Dr. med. Dent
Kronshagen, Germany.
The failure of a primary endodontic treatment can be caused by a variety of different reasons. The present case report describes the endodontic treatment of a mandibular molar with a chronic apical periodontitis resulting from numerous preceding pulp cappings. Due to an insufficient restoration, reinfection of the root canal system occurred, despite an initial successfully treated apical lesion.
